Because of that wackiness, I can't take anything they say in public seriously. It would appear that the closer they live to L.A. the wackier they are. The entertainment industry is awash with such loose cannons. And while they may be Americans (for the most part), when it comes to politics, they should mind their own business and stick to acting. They might have an opinion, but it becomes worthless the moment they use their celebrity status to bash the leadership of this country. It seems their opinions come with an agenda. The only opinions that matter to me about politics are from the private citizen.
Oh, right, you did say wacky. Did you have Brittany in mind? She is part time singer, part time movie star.

The movie stars that show signs of wackiness are victims of believing their own publicity. When their managers, agents, fans and any other person keeps telling them how wonderful they are some, but not all do and say some bizarre things. I would say to them to just shut up and act. That is why they are being paid.

I think a good number of them are strange. They've let their
popularity and big bank accounts swell their egos until they
have to do bizarre and risky things to prove that they are
alive. All of their dependencies on drugs these days are
pathetic. Not that drugs weren't part of the scene with stars
in the past. But they weren't to the extent of the hard drugs
that stars and non stars have access to today. You heard of
alcoholics and marijuana, but not the coke sniffers and
those who shot themselves up for a lack of a better term.
And it seems that those who want success early, feel they
must join in on the drugs at parties and be accepted more
easily in the Hollywood circles. Those who want to lead
respectible lives stay away from that mainstream and lead
quiet lives without the reputations that cause others their
downfall by the press and especially the fans.

Only the ones who do the wacky things and get the media attention that is always looking for the wackiest things going, the biggest scandals, etc. There are lots of class acts out there among movie stars, whose personal lives don't get smeared all over the media because they live quiet, productive lives. What you see on the scandal shows is a very small percentage that gives them all a bad name.

Only the ones in the Media. The wacky ones seem to thrive on the attention. I was thinking the other day about all the famous people you never hear much about. I think the normal ones just keep to themselves more.

There are some great movie stars today, the idiots are media choices not stars. I can think of a wealth of great actors. And then the media hype pops up with idiots.

I think most of them are are crazy as clockwork oranges.
Having said that, the really good talented ones
seem to keep themselves out of the public eye and, as much as possible. Don't get involved in scandals, and just do their job. One comes to mind. Anthony Hopkins.
A lot of the problem lies with the public too, wanting to know their every move, and the media, publishing stories, about them, to sell their magazines and newspapers.

Yes, but here's a news flash: they always have been. Even as far back as the silent era of movies, the tabloids were rife with stories of the crazy antics of movie stars. Very little has changed.

They seem to be plumb Loony Tunes and it's not only them but the whole of the entertainment industry.
The way that they raise the idiocy of political correctness to a well refined art is absolutely ludicrous.
I won't get started on their their ideas about how to run the nation for fear of "going off" and typing all night so that I have to just delete this whole answer.
