Who knows. In the comic books Harvey Dent is white. In The first couple of Tim Burton Batman movies he's black. Then when he becomes two face, he's white again.
We at the mercy of movie producers and what they want to do.

I can't recall Lavender's race ever being mentioned in the books...
Now, I do remember the whole thing when Angelina Johnson was initially cast as white.

Her race was never mentioned. Lee Jordon is black, Angelina Johnson is too, and wasn't Dean Thomas? That's all I remember....

Seems an odd change - a black actress had the part in HP3.

I honestly don't remember much about her. They should stay true to the characters in any case.

My guess is that they want to make sure the cast is "diverse" and they aren't "discriminating"

Idk, but that is very weird! They should have kept her the right race, but movies do differ from books...
