I've recently replaced the wipers with quite expensive Bosch ones from Halfords yet they still squeak on one particular area of the windscreen.

Clean the windscreen with neat screen cleaner on a soft cloth. That should cure it.

First of all you have to determine where the squeaking noise is. Bad blades (metal dragging on glass) can cause squeaky sounding noise, - and will sctratch windshield also! How well does wiper remove water from glass? If it seems to be good going one way, but pretty bad the other, - it could be that the wiper arm is bent sideways (the flat part that the wiper blade attaches to - not the bottom part)- or maybe better described as "twisted". This would make blade sit fairly well going one way, but lay over on it's side going the other, -and possibly make metal in wiper blade drag on glass!

Check and see if the bottom of wiper arm isn't scraping on chrome trim (if there is any) close below wiper arm connections (called transmissions)! Some wiper arms have a little "filler" piece underneath, they make the wiper arms look "cool",-- but sometimes they come detached and drop down enough on one end to drag on metal underneath ! Also make sure the wiper isn't traveling too far on the side where arm comes closest to edge of windshield, - it may actually be traveling over onto trim around windshuield! This would be cured by removing wiper arm and moving it "one tooth" further toward center of windshield --(turn off key with wiper up towards top to do this)!

Then there are the transmissions, -- they have a shaft coming through a "bearing surface", - this brings the power through from behind painted cover, to outside where the arms hook on. From time to time, - I see them where the bearing is squeaking, - a little WD-40 sprayed right underneath the place where wiper arms slip on sometimes will make this stop. I have seen the bushings on the arms underneath go bad also, but if you aren't pretty mechanical minded, I wouldn't try to do much with these, because it requires removing the trim piece between hood and windshield, plus arms and other stuff to get down to those, -- better take it to a garage!

First thing is to clean the windscreen scrupulously and wipe the blades off too. If that doesn't do the trick, an arm may be slightly bent - happens a lot if you use drive-through car washes especially. Look closely and you might find an arm doesn't lie flat relative to the glass. A little careful attention with pliers should straighten it.

hi first try cleaning the rubber blades with methelayted spirit if that dosent work you have two options fit replacement rubber blades which may cure it if its just worn rubber or the more expensive fit complete new metal wiper units sometimes the metal parts can become worn aswell and cause the blades to judder when in use and thus cause noises it depends on your budget you can tighten the metal retainging clip s on the blades if your handy with some pliers thay should move freely but be held firmly if that makes any sense regards steve

You will have to clean the windscreen, with particular attention to the area that squeaks. There is oil or some other dirt on that part, also clean the blades again as they will have picked up the dirt.

Probably the wiper arms want a slight adjustment, sometimes they are ok on the up stroke and not on the back stroke or visa versa, if this is the case get some mole grips on the wiper arms (not the blades) and just twist very slightly. This has worked for me many times.

There are several things you could try, try lemon juice on the windscreen first. Second use alchole wipes on the blades, failing this try using RainEx on the windows.
Ja.

I think you have permanent scratches on your screen because of the wipers you had before you bought new ones.

WD40 straight onto the windsceen works a treat.
Can't actually see anything but it stops the squeaking.
