We all know Obama and Clinton are pretty likely. But my history teacher was talking about the fact that ANYTHING can happen between now and then. "Mud can be thrown as more secrets are revealed." With that in mind, who do you think will win? ..not excluding any other candidates!!

Thrown mud might change that, actually. It has in the past, and what's to say it won't stop it now?

The person who wins will be the person who gives Americans the most hope. Over the past several years, both Republicans and Democrats will admit, the public's faith in government has dwindled. This is shown most clearly in the recent job approval numbers for the President and for Congress. While Congress almost always has a low job approval rating, it seems now to be at an all-time low. Numerous scandles have rocked both the executive and legislative branches and the American people are growing very weary of the war in Iraq. Democrats are looking for another John Kennedy and Republicans are looking for another Ronald Reagan. Both of those men inspired a tremendous amount of hope in the American people. Citizens became more optimistic during their terms and were challenged to work toward a better tomorrow which these men both proclaimed to be in America's future. Today, Americans are looking for an individual who will do the same. That is why I do not believe Hillary Clinton, Rudy Guilliani, John McCain, or Fred Thompson are electable. People will call me crazy, but these people are seen as somewhat pessimistic, negative and shrill. They simply come off the wrong way. Fred Thompson entered the Republican race with much fanfare, but has underperformed. As voters are more exposed to Thompson, I believe his numbers will continue to slip. The Democrats may nominate Hillary, but if the Republicans nominate an optimistic candidate like Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney, she will likely lose. On the other hand, if the Democrats nominate the Kennedyesque Obama, and the Republicans nominate Guilliani, they will likely lose. Again, the bottom line is hope. The next president will be the person who most inspires the American voters, despite who the talking heads on television tell us are the "front-runners."

Mud can stick down about 3-4 points, but not enough to sink any of the democrats. It could come out that the dem candidate is a robotic martian that aims to destroy earth, and 60% of voters will still elect them over any Republican. The repubs will be split internally and bankrupt policy wise because of Iraq, the economy, and gas prices. The result is a Dem landslide through the electoral college, and no amount of mud will change that.

I'm pulling for Huckabee on this one. He makes the most sense and is for getting rid of the IRS. I pray it will not be Clinton or Obama. Mccain has probably shot himself in the foot with the Amnesty bill

Hillary and Obama are very unlikely(i'm sorry a woman and minority no matter what you say have never been elected president). They started their campaigning to early, and now that the hype has died down and people are seeing them for who they really are. Believe me it's not a good thing Giuliani(dangit forgot how to spell his name) will win, although he seems more like a liberal then a conservative.
