The only ones that are really worth the money are the GSXR's. If you are looking for a sport bike that is.

Most all Jap bikes are as reliable a lawn mowers. Suzuki's claim to fame is their GSX series sport bikes.
The deciding factor should be which is the closest shop to buy parts.

Of course all japanese brands are good BMW is also a great brand. If ur buying a used bike get someone who knows bikes to help u stay away from bent/cracked frames leaky bikes and bikes that look like they got the crap beat out of them. If its japanease u cant go wrong.

All of the big 5 manufacturers make great bikes. It is just a matter of finding a model that fits your needs.

I love suzuki GSXR's... they are good.... but its really just your own preference.
