It won't make a difference either way because he has a 0% chance of winning. If I were him, I'd stand firm - at least then he could lose with what little dignity he has that hasn't been robbed from him by his idiot fans on Y! Answers and YouTube.

The failed War on Drugs has been eclipsed by the War on Terror.
His government worshipping detractors will smear Ron by saying that Ron wants everyone to do drugs, he wants the Islamo-fascists to take over the USA, etc, etc. All a bunch of irrational nonsense.

States know their problems, and can best solve them. More localized control over actions, policy & finance. THIS is what works.
The one rule for all states (some vastly different) simply cant work when it comes to fighting drug problems.
*I personally think we need to fight hard against SOME drugs. Primarily crack, speed, and the more hardcore drugs. However at a local & local neighbors level. With other drugs, I think it is equivelant to pointless fighting them, and anti productive seeing they could successfully be taxed for posession. One of my biggest problems is the drug sentences for not only users but dealers. I think it is counter productive to keep ANY non violent offender in jail when there are such lienient sentences for molesters, killers, and other hardened criminals (for them I would lock them up and throw away the key and be glad to pay the bill).
But overall to me the idea of a federal war on drugs is wasteful and illogical.

Standing firm? Are you kidding? He's the most consistent man I've ever listened to. He's been saying the same things since the 1970's. And if being married to the same woman for 50 years isn't consistent, I don't know what is.

he's standing firm. He always has.

No, he's firm in his beliefs. Good for him. Good idea to get the Feds out of the drug war. They seem to have blinders on when it comes to drug-runners. I wonder why ......

Ron Paul is a principled man and it is the reason why he is being supported by people to enable him to challenge Hillary Clinton.
VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know if Ron Paul will likely win.
