I recently moved in with my aunt and her daughter. My cousin & i are only a few hours apart & are just like sisters. We never made real aggrements on paying bills or anything but my aunt just assumed we would pay some. when we did talk about it is was only going to be 120 for my cousin & i each. My aunt got a bill in the other day for almost 200 & wants me to pay for it & she told me two days before it was due. I am 19 & work as a waitress & bussines right now is slow & i am lucky to walk out with 200 a week. You would think paying the bill would be ok but i buy my own food, gas, and anything and everything else i need. By the end of that i really have not much money to spare. I tired explainging this to my aunt & she is just heated about the whole thing. My cousin has no problem paying her bill becuase she gets an 800 check in the mail every month for going to school that she can do whatever she wants with. Am i being unreasonable about not paying the bill or should my see my deliema

Negotiate with your relatives how to distribute the payment so that the situation will be fair.

Your problem is that the three of you never sat down and made a binding agreement as to who pays what. In all reality, you should be responsible for only 1/3 of the entire bill, if there are just 3 of you in the home. If it is your aunt, her husband, then she would be required to pay 1/2, and you 1/4, your cousin 1/4.
Why is she getting a $200.00 bill and expecting you to pay $200.? That doesn't sound right. It almost sounds like you are being taken advantage of.
What you guys can do is take the bills: rent, electric, telephone, cable, water, garbage - and if there are any other household bills. Divide them up based on the number in the house. You are responsible to pay only your fraction of the bills.
When the bills come in, they are left in a file, and on a sheet of paper, each bill is divided evenly amongst you. Then, the date that the payment is due to the main person paying the bill, is put on the paper. Then, that amount must be paid.
If you find that you can't afford to pay your fraction of the evenly divided bills, then you need to find a new job. Or - at least a 2nd one. I can tell you, you will not be able to survive on $200.00 or less a week, for long.

ok....on one hand your Aunt is letting you stay there with them. And if you only have to pay $200. a month, then you're pretty darn lucky. Because you should pay some. But giving you a bill 2 days before it's due, that sucks big time.
So you could either come up with the money. Or would she make you move out?......

Whats the bill for. If its for something like electricity, heating, or the like, then you really should help with it. You are making $800 a month, and its slow, and with driving 90 miles a day, and feeding a family of 3, as well as diapers and all the like. minus all the bills that come with owning my own house, I only spend maybe $500 tops a month on clothes, food, gas, car upkeep (oil, coolant.) so you aren't as bad off as it sounds.

If you ran the bill up that high, you need to pay it. It is your responsibility to keep your bills as low as possible by not being frivolous.
Pick up some extra hours or get a second job.

You should have a written agreement. That's the only way you can avoid argument when problems arise.
