i dual partioned my drive with XP and ubuntu 7.10 Gusty Edition. All drivers are working fine, Video, Sound, Ethernet, USB, Etc. but the Wireless driver is either not installed, or works, (the LED does not light up nor a list of networks is available) because of this i use XP 95% more time than i use linux. if anyone can help me out, it would be appreciated because i did not install linux for no reason.

and NO COMMENTS SAYING MY TYPE of PC SUX! all i ask is for help. not opinions.

The easiest way if your card isn't supported (all mine were) is to install, ndiswrapper. http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/joomla/
This allows your windows card driver to run your card under linux.

I did use it on several distros which didn't support my cards.

Edit: I was looking for a different issue on Ubuntu and found this for you. Tells you how to configure your adapter using ndis

That should get you going.

Well here is the deal

You have to get the wireless hardware model number and then search the manufacturer or an Ubuntu forum for the appropriate drivers.

We in the trade like to refer to Ubuntu as "Not ready for prime time"

It is great you are experimenting with it though
