Because he is very intelligent, deep thinker, not an overly emotional knee jerk reactionary, and know matter what you think of him; he is very rarely proven wrong, and that pisses off the "libturds" more than anything.

I think a lot of it has to do with not taking themselves too seriously. Rush and the other successful talk show hosts instill intelligent humor into their show.
The occasional attempts at Liberal talk shows simply aren't funny, let alone intelligent. They are basically emotion-based rants...and no one wants to listen to that for more than a few minutes.

He had a bit of a following until he was exposed as the hypocrite that he is. The only thing that kept that ignorant gasbag out of prison on drugs charges is his money and his notoriety. Anyone who puts any stock in his brand of hatred is as ignorant an imbecile as he is.

Rush, Sean, Ann, Bill and there rest of far right mouth pieces use the air waves to brain wash there listeners. Those who listen to them are told not think they will think for you.

Because all the repubs have to do to listen to someone dumber than them is to listen to Rush, and it makes them feel superior.
