Unless the cavity is severe, dentists may not want to risk it. IF they do, you will wear a lead apron like any other x-ray. Being pregnant, you want your body to be as healthy as possible and cavities are decay/disease of your tooth structure and are caused by bacteria which is not good for your health. Please just talk to your dentist and I am confident they will help you to make the most wise choice for your situation. Without your medical and oral health history, it is hard to say what your dentist will do. Good luck and try not to worry!

They will double cover your belly with the x-ray cover. If they do not ask them to do it. This is what was done for me when I had to have x-rays and a filling put in. I was about 7 1/2 months.

Dentists will only do it if there is a note from your OB doctor saying it is okay. The dentists do not want to get sued if your baby comes out retarded or something.
