My fiance laughs at me when I point out all the things that I think are wrong with my body. I think most men (and even women) don't want that "perfect Playboy body" for their women in real life. They want a woman who is healthy and confident. However, I think there is a bit of hypocrisy when it comes to how they view women who put their body out there to be judged, such as models, entertainers, etc... Some years ago, the Howard Stern show was shown on TV, and sometimes there would be women who wanted to pose in Playboy. Howard and his cohorts would judge her body, and they would point out the most ridiculous things that were "wrong" with her. I think even they (for the most part) realized how ridiculous it was.

In my own experience, I am much more critical of my own body than other people. As for signifigant others, I put it down to my personal belief that love is blind.

However, I do hear male friends make unkind comments about women they see in the street or on TV. Although to be honest, the women themselves probably think the same or see even more faults with themselves than these guys point out.

Some men can be critical, but I don't think that most of them are half as critical as we are about ourselves, especially here in the West, women are constantly discontent with their breasts, lips, hair, butts, etc. It's unfortunate really.

Come on, 5 lbs after pregnancy is not bad at all, besides, you can distract him in other ways. ;-)

5 pounds? Wow, you're doing alright Unavailable.
Anyway, I'm more critical of my body than hubby is, to answer your question.
Edit- I wish I only had just another 5 lbs to lose :)
Would think all of my X-mas's had come at once.
Really, you are doing great. I lost all pregnancy weight after my second and was feeling fabulous, then fell pregnant with 3rd and am struggling now. :(

To the man that loves you, those extra 5, 10, 15, or 20 lbs. mean nothing. It is still your curves and features that he finds attractive. However, if your attitude and lifestyle begins to change, and you pack on an additional 50 or 100 lbs, then there is reason to believe that you are not living up to your responsibilities in the relationship.

We are so our own worst critics. My weight has fluctuated over the 11 years we've been married, and it has nothing to do with his desire for me. It surely makes me feel less sexy when I'm not happy with my body, but you should stay confident and 'act' as if it doesn't matter.

No, Men, when they have found their soul-mate do not worry about an extra 5 pounds.
They are happy that you and your son are there for them.

No way! Men really don't care, unless you are not taking care of yourself.

Take care.
