It struck me that the cop/traffic ticket questions seemed to ASSume that the cop was male, right? Would that change the anwers if it was a female cop dealing with a crying women, crying man, crying gay man?

(ok, I admit, I didn't read all the cop questions and answers, do don't yell at me if I'm lazy and missed something)

My dad's a cop, so are two of my uncles, and my grandfather's a retired police chief...and the reason I tell you this is because I think it's ridiculous that some people seem to think it's "easy" to manipulate your way out of a speeding ticket. It seems like a lot of people think cops must be stupid. Don't they realize police deal with these sorts of situations every single day? Don't they understand that cops have "heard it all" a thousand times before, and most would not be too impressed with someone who's trying to manipulate them? Batting your eyelashes at a male cop is more likely to get you that speeding ticket than it is to get you out of one. Same with the unbelievable stories people sometimes tell. Most cops know the difference between truth and fiction. It's a mistake to think that they don't! And most don't take kindly to people who try manipulate them. The fact is, you're more likely to get away with speeding if you TELL THE TRUTH. Simply put, if you tell the officer you didn't realize how fast you were going, or, if you tell them you knew but you were in a rush to get somewhere (whichever is true), the fact is, they tend to appreciate and value the honesty far more than a lie. It's a rare person who owns up to making a mistake. And cops appreciate it when you are that rare person. But if you insult the cop's intelligence, be prepared to pay the price...they won't show you any mercy.

Same answer-a cop shouldn't let the public manipulate them, and the vast majority of cops don't.

Nope. Not one iota.

I have the same standards on flirtation, bribery, and crying, regardless.
