If you are going thru 4 qts in 15 min. its time to park that puppy. Can you even see behind you? Sounds like you have a serious oil burning problem. The only other way you can lose that much oil in that short a time is if you have a serious problem with an oil seal or you do not have a oil pan what so ever. Seriously, the engine would not run if you could burn that much oil in 15 min`s, look for an external leak , if you loose that much oil it`s bound to show up

Sounds bad... If it's not leaking, you're going to need a rebuilt motor if the car's worth the expense. Sometimes leaks that bad are caused by the engine leaking compression and the oil is blown out through any weak gasket, etc... People spend a lot of money to replace seals and gaskets and it happens again...

Having internal engine work or rebuilds done by a mechanic never seems to work out well. People always seem to have more problems before long. Having a fully rebuilt motor from a rebuild shop installed or junking the car are probably your best options if it's not a simple leak that can be fixed.

Wait...HOW did you check it? The dip stick, or did you open up the cap and look and see if it was full? Because it isn't SUPPOSED to be full up to the fill cap.

Also, have someone sit in the car, parked, in neutral, and rev the gas. Stand behind it and look for black or blue smoke. If there is no smoke, you are not burning oil.

Now leave it running for a while, then look under the car. If there is no oil on the ground, you are not leaking oil. (Or at least not fast enough to lose 4 quarts in 15 minutes)

If you're not burning oil, and you're not leaking oil, then the oil is still in there.

you are either leaking oil or have a blown gasket. Does your car exhaust contain a lot of black smoke? That's how you know oil is being burned inside the engine.

If not, then its probably a leak which should be very easy to find and can be very inexpensive to fix, but dont mess around and let your motor burn up man, that will cost you big

If you can't see it leaking anywhere its probably collecting via the fume pipe in the air cleaner.

Engine is so worn/broken that oil is fuming out: take the oil cap of while engine is running and you will see what I mean.

a present somebody gave me that I in no way use. i won't be able to ever throw it away because of the fact no one else has ever given me a present. some day my tale will learn. All people who made me out to be a monster would be positioned on the spot and puzzled unto shame.

leaking oil from crank seal, more than likely...check bottom of engine just below the crank pulley...or either leaking somewhere else..or drain back hole in cylinder head are stopped up, put more oil in car...top of valve cover and check oil level on dipstick...if at normal...crank car..look for leakage..loosing 4 qts of oil that fast..got to be big leak...

Did you check your radiator to see if it's in the coolant? It could be a blown head gasket.
