They played NO ONE! Their toughest out of conference team was Washington for goodness sake! And the Big 10 is an overrated joke as usual!

That is certainly a matter of opinion. That is the whole problem with the entire system. It does not matter who got in and who did not, there would be people here throwing a fit. Face it: not just the Big Ten, but all of college football is an "overrated joke," always has been, and always will be. It is simply a popularity contest based on ratings and money. So long as there is no playoff system in place, the whole bowl system is a crock. I am not sure why anyone bothers following it, honestly, aside of the years when your team actually gets the lucky break. That is just it, though: the controversy gets people's attention, fixes them to their televisions, and keeps them cashing checks for their favorite schools to try to get them the edge. So long as the television channels and NCAA is making dough off of people's obsession with this joke, nothing will change. If you really cared, you'd stop watching until they gave us the playoff we deserve.

Actually they played some pretty tough teams. Penn State, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Washington. And Michigan State is no slouch - nor Purdue. All those teams were in the top 25 at one point this year. LSU could very easily have 6 losses. Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas.

As for politics....the media has been against Ohio State ever since they lost the NC last year. They were the best team in the country all year last year according to the experts. Then they have one bad game (like everyone does once in a while) and suddenly all the experts are totally against them.

it's called politics. You take some Alumni, allow a few undeserving teams to, loiter around the top ten until the end of the season and, BAM!!! there You have it. the Bogus Championship Series. all of the teams that, actually deserved a shot at the national championship, ended up ranked outside of the top nine. I'm boycotting the BCS until, they can find a more convincing way to crown a national champion. I will occupy Myself by watching more spontaneous and, honest sport like, pro wrestling.

They are playing in the National Championship Game for two reasons:
1) The coaches, former players, and sportswriters whose rankings make up the Coaches' and Harris polls said they were one of the two best teams in the country. And,
2) The various computer polls that make up part of the BCS formula said that they were one of the two best teams in the country.

I know that's a pretty difficult concept (especially for a lot of SEC fans), but try to wrap your small minds around the fact that they play football in other parts of the country besides the South.

Stop, take a deep breath and pull your head out of your rear end. The Big 10 is just as good as any other conference. They won their conference, and had the least amount of losses. They didn't lose to Colorado, or Texas Tech, or Kentucky, or Arkansas, or Stanford and their backup QB, or South Carolina, they lost to a BCS-bowl bound Illinois team by a touchdown. They're just as deserving as any other team.

They destroyed Michigan, they beat a Penn State at Beaver Stadium that completely ripped Wisconsin to shreds, they beat almost everyone they played (except for a really good Illinois team). I'm a Penn State fan but I think Ohio State deserves to be in the championship game and not in something shitty like the PapaJohns.com Bowl.

We'll see the next day to come, however in any case the votes are in it is definitely that just one has to lose. Right now it is watching just like the inconceivable goes to occur. Everyone used to be announcing it might be WVU vs. OSU. Right now it appears find it irresistible maybe Mizzou OSU. Weird. EDIT: Um. Nevermind.

Puhleeze. Your tears are shorting out my PC. They can only play the teams on their schedule. Why don't we stick a 8-3 team in that played a harder schedule. 2 or 3 losses are just that, losses. I don't feel like watching a couple of multiple time losers playing for the NCAA championship.

the same can be said for LSU. How can you lose twice, even if they were in OT, and still make it into the national championship over underwater Hawaii?
