i admire Christmas fruitcake with butter on it. I shop a container interior the cabinet all 365 days around. in case you like cherries, raisins, nuts, and cake...attempt it. 15 minutes later: basically had a slice, scrumptious...thank you!

i only eat my dad's, after the fruit has been soaked in alcohol for a year (something to do with natural juices and preserving the cake so it lasts longer) before it is made

Yeah, and when it not too heavy ( anything but christmas cake) it can be okay. Say im crazy but its true. A light sponge with glazed cherries and sultanas can be nice!

Yah, that fruit cake if really good, especially if it has been soaked in rum for a couple of days. Go for it, flavor your own.
