Oh and when Lynette and Ms.Mcwhatever went to the bathroom with the mattress over their heads, was that Ms.McSomething's house? If it was, why didn't they go in the basement?

tom and the kids were hiding out in ms. mccluskey's basement with ida greenberg...when lynette and ms. mccluskey came out of lynette's house where they were hiding in the bath tub, they see that the tornado flattened ms. mccluskey's house...lynette screams because she doesnt know if tom and the kids are dead or alive...if u want to know who dies, go to www.spoilerfix.com...great cliffhanger!!!

While watching, I thought it was Mrs. McCluskey's house, because that was the only option that seemed to make sense to me, but according the the ABC website, it was Lynette's house and that dumb, unbelievable scream was about her losing her (presumably insured) house and possessions, not about losing her family (which is why I thought she was screaming).
The episode recap reads: "Finally all is quiet on Wisteria Lane. Bree is shocked to find her house has been badly damaged, but Lynette screams in horror when she sees that hers has been completely destroyed."

I can see why she'd be horrified at the destruction of her house, but I find it repulsive she would react to that before she found out whether her family was okay or not.

well the reason she was screaming was because the woman she was with when they walked out seeing everything was destroyed was the womans house and thats where lynettes family and the womans friend was staying during the storm and she noticed nothing was there.

I'm pretty sure it was the old lady's house, where Tom and her kids were.
They were in the tub in Lynettes house cause they could not make it back to Mrs. McClosky's house.

I Have the same question. I'm not sure either. But it might be because they were running in a certain direction to get back to Mc.Clusky's but then they turned around, so who knows.
