What would the formula be to show a population growth of 1.4% per year over 4 years? I mean I know how to get the answer but it is not algebraically.

i.e. (for numbers sake) Pop: 5000 Gr Rate 1.4% over 4 years.

year 1) 5070
year 2) 5141
year 3) 5213
year 4) 5286

Ok, so can you show me what the formula would be to calculate this in algebra terms?
