My dad went to University of Chicago and talks about it nonstop. For PsychOLOGY, northwestern might be better, and also has more than one degree path. However, if you are interested in PsychIATRY, university of chicago is without a doubt the better bet. Both schools are outstanding and as you probably know, ranked evenly by most.

Those are two of the best universities in the US. Either would be an excellent choice for psychology.

If you are good enough to get into a top university, I would suggest applying to both.

Why would you apply to only one?

Admissions is never guaranteed. Both are good schools (and, frankly, undergrad psychology is not much of a niche program these days anyways).
