they're not hard to find.... folks know that the castor bean plant is good at chasing out moles and it's caused a resurgence of interest in the plant..... the plant itself is lovely and if the seeds worry you, it's easy enuff to go clip them off as they are forming and dispose of them..... that's what I do....

Yes you can. You can order also on line. Google Castor Bean and see the articles on it , some are quite informative and interesting. The plant has many uses besides producing Ricen. Castor oil is needed to produce nylon and other fabrics. It's a medicine. It is in the same family as Christmas Poinsettias (euphorbia)

I'm not sure anymore. I know they used to be against the law to grow because they are so poisonous. Back in the late 50's early 60's I know that is when they where outlawed, Little kids were eating them, and dying from it. Then recently,I saw them for sale at a nursery. Go Figure. Every time I see a wild Caster Bean Plant, I ask my husband if he would like a Bean Salad for dinner. He seems to think I'm kidding, which I am! Who knows any more, but I do know they are lethal, and I would not have one. Byee

I still see the seeds on the garden seed racks, at least last year. Will see when the they come in in the spring. I don't think it is illegal yet.
They are still in a lot of the online seed catalogs, I just checked, so they are still legal.
