It seems that everything I do need some kind of password and code number! I can't remember my birthday, let alone all this nonsense we have to know to get into our bank accounts, ATMS, sites, you name it, someone wants some kind of something. IF your pin is too easy, it can be hacked, if it is too difficult, you have to carry it written down..now that does a lot of good! You pull out a piece of paper and a gun is in your face at the atm window! Whatever happened to the good old days where we stood in line for 14 hours while some nutcase in front of us was making out a check for a 39¢ check-out price! Yes, those were the good old days, everyone pulled their check books out, the checks had to be verified, and by the time you got to the checkout register, the milk you were buying had soured! I decided long ago that credit cards for everything were the only way to go...no charges can be assessed when using a credit card, but try using your ATM for purchase....some places tack on a 50¢ to 2.00 charge for the honor of taking your money! They cannot do that with credit cards! I just pay it off once a month, no finance charges, etc. NO PIN NUMBERS either! I don't go up to ATMS, I do not use debit cards at gas stations...too many times in this area, PINS have been ripped off at the pumps and the ATM's. So, I keep dead green presidents in my wallet and credit cards...all carried in my side pocket, not by back pocket! Now, I am not a paranoid person. BUT I can read the papers, and daily, I read of this rip off, that rip off, this scam, that scam...hell, the world has gone mad. I do get irritated at my bank on rare occasion when, with a deposit in hand, plenty of money in my account, they ask me for my bank card AND PIN number! I am withdrawing no cash, and they still want my pin number! What do they think I am going to do..deposit MY money in someone else's account???? I asked about that, asked how many times had I dealt with the same bank, the same tellers, .... I actually got an appology form a BANK! NOW top that one! Oh, you asked a question, didn't you. I am afraid the answer I will have to give is the only pins I know are the ones I drive well into my feet when I step on them! So much for my intelligence! Goldwing.

PIN #'s - No. Remember them with no problem.

Usernames and passwords? - often! Due to various require ments of sites for how many letters, no characters or some characters, and numbers or no numbers....I stopped worrying about it..and when it doesn't 'click' in my brain, I just click on 'forgot password'..lol

The only two places I have to actually talk to a live body are my bank and another financial institution...with them I have never forgotten the information since the first time I messed up! lol

I had this problem when I first got my pin number changed. My solution?...I carry around a small "calendar/address" book in my purse. In there, on the very last listing in the address section, I put a ficticious name...Zinnia or whatever and a bogus phone number, which utilizes my pin number as the last four numbers shown.

Then all I had to do was to remember that "Zinnia's" number was actually my pin number, and I was all set.

Funny you ask. It just dawned on me tht I needed to check my beneficiary on my 401K since I have been divorced a couple of years and not sure if I ever changed it.Well, I try to log on to the Vanguard site and realize I do remember my pin let alone where I put it so I would remember. LOL So, I called them and it took a couple weeks, but I now have a new PIN number.

Wicks, you are looking her right now. Then I decided, all cards now have the same PIN number, and my three emails have the same passwords. Except for my bank.

GW, I really can relate to that too. That is why I decided, to keep them all the same. but I DO remember my birthday, because, it is the day when all the racehorses in the Southern Hemisphere turn another year older. 1st August.

Actually I'm pretty good at pins and passwords, though having over 50 passwords I do have some written help incase something falls through the cracks.

Forgetting things is something I am getting really good at.

If I haven't used a number in a few days Ill need to find my glasses then find the paperwork with the number on it!

Unless, I have missplaced my glasses.

If that's the case, I'll need to buy another pair from the drug store.....

What was the question ?!

Go Figure!

I have esp. when we'd move and I'd change numbers. There are so many pin #'s for different things now and also passwords to remember it's easy to forget them or have the wrong one for the wrong thing. I'm always afraid if I have to remember one more thing like that I'll lose vital information like who I am or where I live! LOL
