Ok, so my question is, how do I know whether or not these vibes and communications are coming from a light place or a dark place? Or even just neutral? How do I know that it is authentic and not just a nasty trying to mess with me. If you have any experience with spirit guides that would be so helpful. If you don't believe, don't answer.

Your spirit guide is with you always, talk to them often, that is why there are there. Ask them to help you find the solutions, you won't always hear their voice, just trust them! They would never put you into a nasty situation, if you have found yourself in a nasty situation it was not them.

How do the feelings make you feel? When are these feelings coming? When I first started studying and experiencing spirituality I did a lot of reading, and when I would feel like I was opening channels where I could recieve information, some of it seemed really weird to me. I didn't know where the messages were coming from, so I had no way of knowing if they were credible/reliable. I later came to find that they were all my own thoughts coming from my subconscious mind, communicating (even arguing at times) with my conscious mind. It's your minds way of trying to link your waking to your non-waking thoughts, strengthening your spirit and mental capacity for further spiritual experiences. This stage lasts until your "spirit guide" as you put it, or guardian angel/divine self feels you're ready to explore more in the spirit world, and be ready to discern whether the intentions and ideas of energy entities you encounter will be good/beneficial or bad/unuseful for you. In the spirit plane you vibrate at certain levels, and the higher frequencies of vibration bring you closer to the euphoric plane of "heaven" where people who've lived good lives spend the majority of their time in the afterlife. Lower vibrations make your energy denser and more restricted, so keep you bound really closely to the material world we live in during our life (concepts of hell are largely misunderstood). true spirit guides are there to help and protect us. I believe that a person can have more than one and can have both an animal and human spirit guides. There are spirits out there that try to trick us and make us believe that they are good and they can cause harm. No matter what ALWAYS trust your instinct.

Contact with one of your many spirit guides would be filled with clarity, truth, love, laughter even. It can even feel normal, like an extended part of yourself.
When you have contact with guides you are sharing time with spiritual friends & teachers.
I doubt that it is anything nasty.
It is time for you to learn about your subtle energy system - openeing & grounding of your energies. Your aura etc. This will give you more confidence.

In addition to God the Holy Spint, there are also many demonic spirits near us at all times. Without God's Word as your guide, you have no way of knowing which communication is coming from the devil since he constantly disguises himself as an "angel of light" (2 Cor 11:14). On this matter God is very emphatic and clear: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 Jn. 4:1). "All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work" (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

Some times what we think is a spirit talking to us, is our subconscious mind talking to us. There or files stored there that is much larger than our conscious mind. Sometimes it is cluing us in on whats wrong in our life. When you get these vibes as you call them, write them down and study them. I've heard voices before, and I payed attention to what they were saying. You or born knowing right from wrong, so sort them out.

There are no clairvoyants or psychics in real life. People who claim such ability are out to scam you. From your rambling account, you seem to be suffering from some type of mental illness. I hope that you'll get some professional help. Good luck to you.

I have read in many places that evil spirits cannot tell you that they are your spirit guide....that your real guide prevents this
