if for some reason our country becomes under turmoil or for say a incident like in the movie air force one how is he to protect himself

I dont know of any reason he cant if he chose to.but he travels with over two hundred highly trained very well armed agents of the secret service.part of their training is to grab the president and get him out of harms way.They dont need to have to worry about him geting into firing stance and returning fire .plus it would be a media frenzie if he did have to fire in sel defence and killed some one .political suicide

I don't know why the president wouldn't be allowed to get a Carry permit, I mean he is the president.
The Secret Service wouldn't want him to have one because he may want to fight back instead of following Secret Service instructions so they can defend him better.

probably because he has 5 million secret service agents (ok i'm exaggerating with 5 million) with guns. Oh, and with OUR president, do we really want someone that idiotic carrying a weapon? I wouldn't trust him with a pencil
