According to the report tonight, of the one million former Iraqi Christians, thousands have lost their lives at the hands of Iraq Moslems in the new regime, all of the ancient churches have been closed and almost half a million have been forced to flee. It would be a sad irony if the only lasting impact of our involvement over there were to irreparably harm our Christian brethren over there in Iraq. Why is there not a great outcry from all of the Christian churches of the world at this outrage. Muslims march and protest over alleged insults to bears. Why are not Christians justifiably outraged by Muslim attrocities over there?

I did not see that but I believe what you said. The thing is in nations where Islamic law is the rule it is illegal to build or re-build churches or synagogues that have been destroyed or have fallen in bad shape. They also impose a tax on all non-Muslims and many other things as well. I think we should demand that they have equal rights and protection under law or say fine here ya go, and leave them to kill each other. Yeah that's mean, but I can not justify having our guys getting killed just so some nation can impose Muslim Law on the people and not respect every groups rights to worship as they feel they should. That's also why I think we should have allowed ol' Sodom Hussein to take over Kuwait, because our troops were not allowed to wear crosses like many do around their necks. They said it might offend the Muslims. Well heck the Muslims have been offending me for years now over many things they do, but I put up with it because it's their right to worship as they wish in this land. I am sick of all the PC that goes on about Islam. People really need to open their eyes, do a little research and then see what you think about Islam. I still think they should be allowed to practice their religion, but they should not be allowed to make second class citizens, or abuse and kill people who are not.

Thousands of Chaldean Catholics have relocated to the San Diego area. The reason there is no sense of outrage against the actions taken by their fellow Iraqis is that the average American doesn't know that there are Christians in Iraq and that the Chaldeans trace their roots all the way back to the biblical Saint Thaddeus. But, this is nothing new. Egyptian governments have carried out the same sort of actions against Coptic Christians and Hezbollah has done the same against the Maronite Christians in Lebanon.
What is remarkable is the ability of some of these same governments to put one of those minority Christians into the position of being that nation's foreign minister. Iraq did it with Tarrik Aziz, who is a Chaldean Christian and egypt with Butros Butros-Ghali who is a Coptic Christian. He even got to be Secretary General of the UN and few (if any) in our media ever mentioned his being a Christian.

I am a Christian , and am outraged by it.

That doesn't mean that I will automatically do what you suggest or support what you do.

You are misguided, if you truly believe that writing a letter to your leaders will have any impact. If they recieved millionjs of letters, all they would be moved to do would be to say a few words (that they don't mean) in a public forum, and the sign some dummy bill or send a few dollars to fund some highly visible but completely ineffectual program.

How terribly liberal of the first poster. No matter what the U.S. government's involvement in Iraq has been or will be, it doesn't cause Iraq citizens to kill their fellow citizens because they have a different religion. They do it because they want to. Period.

Most of the Republicans that are incharge claim to be christian they claim this to get the christain vote becuase there are more christians in the USA then any other religion. So they are going over there for personal gain, it has noting to do with religion, they could care less about that. And a lot of people don't want to get involved with the middle east because it itself is the Pandoras Box.

what gave you the idea that Christians aren't already on their knees praying about it? What makes you think that no one is doing anything about it? What do you think we are supposed to do? Last time I checked, there was power in prayer. Who better to go to than God himself who created all things, whose blood is worthy to cover all sins, whose arm is not short, whose ear is not deaf, who loves deeper and more than you or I could ever muster within ourselves. Even if no one else did a single thing about it. If you alone got down on your knees in private to pray, if you are sincere, and you wipe out all your doubt. Don't put limitations on God. God would hear you and answer you. Look up in the night sky, if he can make the stars and the moon. If he can make the beautiful oceans and mountains. Look at the anatomy of man, how complex. If he can do all that, and yet how tiny we are compared to the universe he created, yet cares enough that the sacrifice of THE MOST INNOCENT of ALLLLL blood was shed to cover ALLLL our sins. Then why would or should we think that he can't or won't hear and answer your prayer. He is able, don't dare to think he's unable or unwilling. God bless you for caring and lifting up your voice.
