because instead of learning from the past and slavery, and white dominance, murder, and oppression, people think its better to just brush it under the rug and pretend it never happened.
Also white society is naturally racist. Everywhere they have gone on the planet, whether it was Australia, Hawaii, Africa, America, India, China, Europeans have used colorism and white supremacy as a means to dominate others. If that doesn't mean that most white people have this urge within them, then i don't know what does. Of course, there are white people who rise above it all and really aren't racist, but i think they make a conscious effort to not be racist. Notice how your the only one that is bothered by the comments, out of all of your white peers.
Oh and the society is racist because it was built on the doctrine of white supremacy and white privelage. That's why the white people who sailed here felt that it was ok to kill the native americans, even though the native americans were peaceful and friendly. The society was built on the idea that white people are better than everyone else. In order to retain the status and privelage that white skin gives people, white people have to keep this idea of white supremacy alive. That's why there isn't much done to combat racism and stereotypes. Also, racist parents are most likely the ones who taught your classmates these jokes. Kids are not born racist, they learn it from the home. They probably heard their parent's telling these jokes.

First, suggesting that any feedback of Ahmadinejad's perspectives at the Holocaust is "Nazi form racism" is intellectually cheating. Once you've gotten stated that, any style of feedback could also be termed "Nazi". And "Nazism" disappears, as though it had under no circumstances existed. Secondly, if you happen to suppose that Jews don't have any hyperlink whatever to that land, possibly you have got to learn a little bit extra approximately the historical past of Judaism and Zionism. And incidentally, the Shoah could have been a European crime, however the best mufti of Jerusalem, Hitler's pal, might were blissful to take facet. FInally, any undertaking of the level of the Holocaust is the negationists' favorite process. Just instil a few doubts in individuals's minds and the hearsay will expand freely. That's precisely what the ones b@stards in my nation were doing (Faurisson, Garaudy — Ahmadinejad's common visitor — and Le Pen, of direction!). And eventually, eventually, it is prime time a few individuals discovered that one are not able to base one's political ethical values at the precept that if it is towards Israel and the US, then it may possibly best be well. Oh, sure, and now, what lets do? Please learn Amos Oz's little e-book, Help us to divorce (Vintage, 2004).

Society is funny in that, actually. Instead of physically abusing or taking rights away from groups, verbal abuse happens. Of course, the first part can still happen, but it isn't nearly as bad.
We're all too covered in political correctness to actually solve any problems with it. Just make sure that you stick to your morals and stick up for others. Little things like that can make an impact.
We have a similar issue here, actually. While I suppose we are mostly white in my area, we have many other "groups" in the area. It's the minorities beating up the white Christians for things their grandparents did. xP (I say this as a person from a Jewish and Christian family, just so people know.) At any rate, one group will always be targeted and viewed as inhuman, then beat up the oppressor's offspring for the next century while oppressing someone else. Ah, life.
Again, stick to morals and you'll go far.

I know what you mean my cousin went to a suburban school and faced a lot of racism they called him the n word a lot and there were about 3 hispanics in his school and about 20 black people the rest where white. Our society is racist because of certain Family's vaules. If someone's parents are racist then more then likely they will be racist too. People tend to get there views on ceartin topics form their parents. Parents mold there children to be a ceatin way and what they believe has a strong influence on what their child believes. another thing people tend to oppose things that are different. A lot of people that are not exposed to different cultures or different kinds of people will not be willing to accept those culture because they are so different

Because Americans have no ability to learn from the past. The United States is made up of people descended from immigrants somewhere in their lineage, be it from the Mayflower or Mexico or Ellis Island. Americans have trouble accepting diversity because they are afraid of change and, to some degree, intolerent and ignorant.

I was just talking to my mother about this a few days ago. With all the nooses and so on. Whats up with that? I'm amazed that people would be this ignorant.
Make sure to let people know your stance on these issues. People seem to let things "go with the flow" and if you speak out more people will as well. Let them know that racism is not a joke.

Because white Americans are the most xenophobic and paranoid people in the world, they feel the need to band togethter and attack everyone who doesn't look or talk like them.
That's one of the reasons why America's reputation with the world is going down the drain.

Good question and I think so much of it is learned behavior, you know follow the leader kind of stuff. The more one sees other people as different then the more they judge. The more you see yourself in other people, the more you are less likely to judge them as you feel you can connect with them.
