On July 5, in the area around Center Village, there was great excitement. Six different people reported to the police that they had seen bigfoot, the large hairy creature sometimes seen but never captured. The next day, twice as many people called the police. Each day the police recieved twice as many calls as the day before. After they got a total or more than 300 calls, the police took the phone off the hook! On what day did the police recieve their 300th call? >>> I need to show an equation on hpw i got the answer, so if you could please give step by step instructions. Also, i know the answer already is 6 days, but unsure how to find it in an equation. Thanks.

6 - day 1
6 * 2^(2-1) = 6*2 = 12 - day 2
6*2^(3-1) = 6*4 = 24 - day 3
6*2^3 = 6*8 = 48 - day 4
96 - day 5
192 - day 6

But cumulatively, 6*(2^n - 1) gives the number
6*1 = 6 total thru first day
6*3 = 18 total thru 2d day
6*31 = 186 thru 5th day
6*63 = 378 thru 6th day

Sometime on the 6th day, they receive their 300th call
