Hi all, I'm not a big fan of beauty pageants. I don't like that the girls never seem real to me. They seem like they were groomed from birth to be in a pageant. I like the Style network and was watching How do I look when I saw the ad for Instant Beauty Pageant. I thought it was really fun and the girls all seemed so genuine, even down to the nasty pretty one who had no clue how rude she was. I'm curious to see the next one. I hope it's more down-to-earth girls like me. I can see how it boosted the winner's self-esteem. Who wouldn't be flattered to be approached? Plus, you get a free bathing suit and evening dress - I could use a little black one. Anyway, I think other people should watch this Friday night and let me know what you think. Girls, I know what you'll be paying attention to. Guys, they're in BIKINI'S!!

I wouldn't say that, but it can bring out a competitive and ugly side of people...the whole concept of " am I pretty?" boggles my mind, anyway. On the outside, we are who we are, but we have many oportunities to work on our insides (who we are) and most people don't have a clue, or the desire, to look inward and make needed changes.
On the other hand, pageants and modeling can do a lot for a woman's inner self esteem, and can be doors to more important things.

to be honest with you, it just makes them bratty and stuck up. every single girl i have ever met that attended pagents were the most snotty girls i have ever met, and plus they are all in competition with being beautiful, not what they have accomplished for the world... yea so they might say what they could do if they wanted to but umm.... they wont.... its all about who has the bigger mac make up kit and who has the biggest boobs..... other than that... they are absolutely useless..... i think the real beauty comes from people who can perform random acts of kindness and help all who needs help and do anything they can to make the world a better place.... and not worry about their fake eyelashes falling off while doing it.

I dont think it's the girls...
it's the moms who never lived the "dream" of hairspray, poofy dresses, and plastic walmart rhinestone crowns.
