Ok, so how was "Exile" the death of the Stones? Please elaborate...

Sorry to disagree.
To me that album was the death of the Stones.
Just sloopy playing and arrangements; the beginning of a sound that always is the same; even today.
Consider the elegance and arrangements of everything they recorded before.
