Hi all,

I need help here. I'm driving a 4 yrs old Mazda 323 protege manual drive.

I encountered a problem these days when I'm driving. When I'm in the 3rd gear, I tried to apply full throttle. The car engine was revving up loudly but the speed remains the same at around 70 - 80km/hr.

I was wondering if my clutch has wear off or if there is some mechanical faults with the engine. Anyone knows what goes wrong?

Thank you.

Clutch is slipping. may just need adjustment, if any is allowed. Most cars today have a mechanism that automatically makes adjustments. If no adjustment is permitted, you will need to have the clutch replaced.

I'm no transmission expert, but I believe it's a problem with your third gear not the clutch. If it was the clutch you would be experiencing problems in all the gears not just one. I would get it to a shop as soon as possible. Depending on the miles it may still be under warranty as most models have higher drivetrain warrantys then they do bumper to bumper. Check with a Mazda dealer first. I hope this helps!

Get the clutch adjusted as soon as possible if it isn't already too late.

get out of 3rd gear, you have rev limiter, for each gear..guess your tach is reading high...shift to 4th gear and speed will pick up..

Your transmission is slipping. Take it to a mazda dealer and have them look at it.
