Your true nature is obscured by your conditioned ego identity. The mind is the intersection of your true nature, i.e. level of consciousness, with the brain/body system.
Your conditioned thinking patterns are at the brain/body level. The authentic you (true nature) inhabits the brain/body system with the conditioned ego identity - your limited beliefs. But, "You cannot pull two bows, ride two horses or serve two masters." The true self is where your allegiance must return. It requires a psychological shift.
Either the ego is in control of your responses or YOU are.

When I was heavy into acting, my intelligence was my great strength (I was really good at cold reading, for example, because I could glean the author's intent very quickly)
BUT
I was having trouble progressing with characters; my acting coach told me he thought I was TOO intellectual. We did a scene from Hamlet where I just let my mind go and dug deeper...to what you might call my True Nature. It was a dynamite scene
So,
At least for acting, and we all know how acting reflects the truths of life (ironic or serious statement, depending on your point of view), it is very possible for your true nature to be obscured by Mind.

By the organic part of it, yes. The mind dwells in duality and naturally operates from an organic condition, which is divided/fragmented. Then also you have to deal with the animal consciousness which is at a lower vibration then the organic upon the spectrum of consciousness. The thought is one is to expand the mind beyond its organic limitations, of confusion, and division, into a unified whole, of which develops the essence of the spiritual seed that is in you towards birth, so that you can be born into your True Nature and be that True Nature while you live. The lower mind is but a lesser aspect of the higher Mind, the Mental Mind/Being of Light you are.
So we naturally operate at the vibration of the organic, the vibration of this world, which such a level of mind can definitely obscure whom you truly are, in fact most deny they have a higher nature beyond what they see in the mirror. truly its in the expansion of the mind in the center where duality is overcome. Our true nature is obscure in ignorance and disharmony of being, our true nature is illuminated in Gnosis and harmony of being.

There are sure matters with that e book. i think of i'm greater surprised by the form of JWs that thoroughly forget on the subject of the data it rather is obtainable for all to study. I as quickly as confirmed a JW a misquote in the e book utilising an analogous e book quoted and the guy merely skipped over the sparkling data. The e book had an analogous 365 days as quoted in the JW e book, yet that did not count number to the JW.

mmmm rena you do ask deep questions, I do like the ones that make me think and in a way I find them refreshly challenging. I think we tend to confuse our true nature by admiring the qualities of those around us. We tend to have a desire to be more something or other like so and so,which draws our attention from whop we are as an indavidual and of course we then become blind to who we really are and the quallities we have within ourselves. We all thrive when we work on our own personal development and I don`t think we could ever have too much of that. Perhaps it is me that is now being too deep...........mmmmmm

Turn about and walk back through your thoughts to your first moment. The mind that thinks its self the same obscures its true self tranformative nature. The nature mind is mind nature.

I believe that the filters that we place upon our minds can obscure our reason from pursuing a path of honesty. Our 'true' nature is dynamic, always changing. The Mind cannot see what pride has hidden.
