A 93 year old with dementia should not be living by himself, let alone with a gun.
If he threatens you or your children, call the cops and keep calling until they take his gun.
Otherwise, does he have family? If he does contact them and tell them that you are very concerned and that they need to do something about it.
Really though, how do you know it is loaded? Have you seen the gun? The bullets? Do you know for certain that the bullets are live? Is there any way you can get dummy bullets and swap them out?
What scares me more than anything is the fact that this man is living in a house by himself. That is like leaving a 4 year old to survive on their own. Could they? Probably. Is it a good idea? We all know the answer to that one.

There is many degrees of Dementia as there is different degrees of physical abilities in 93 year olds. Also each State has its own gun laws. I am sure there are states that his owning a gun would be legal. He can still drive a car, get married, have sex and be a friend. Invite him over to meet your family. I bet he is lonely.
