Is there anyway to find out who various newspapers have endorsed for President of the US in the past? I'm pretty sure my local paper (the Miami Herald) has never endorsed a republican over a democrat in any senate or Presidential race, and I was curious if papers like the Boston Globe, New York Times, LA Times, etc have ever endorsed a republican for President.

I know the Miami Herald endorsed Kerry, Gore, and Clinton before that, but I'd like to see if they endorsed Carter when he lost every state except one and their other endorsements.

Tham is right, yet the paper itself is very left wing it also knows that it's best not to upset the ones in power or the ones who are likely to get power. In other words the NY Times has no back bone as a rule. They will support a candidate like Bush in '04 only because they feel he will win. Then they write very bad and often misleading "news" about the Republicans in office. That way they keep the Dems. happy. In a way they play both sides against the middle.
