It used to be that if you paid a tarriff that tripled the price of a cigar you could buy them from Canada, is that still going on.

You can import cigars from any country that isn't embargoed. Currently that is only Cuba.

If you buy Cuban cigars, you can't legally import them, even if you bought them in a third country, such as Canada.

Canadian cigars, no problem.

Cuban cigars are illegal to possess in the United States, regardless of where they are purchased.
