Friday night my friends and I went to a guys apartment (he’s a freshman in college) and he was having a party. One of my friends is pretty good friends with him so we all decided to go. There were a lot of other hot college guys there and to make a long story short I ended up making out with one of them. (he is 19 and I am 17 which isn’t really bad) He ended up giving me a hickey. Well yesterday, I had a basketball game and I Knew I would have to wear my hair up so I tried to cover it up as good as I could. Well it was late into the game and I was sweating and I guess the make up I used to cover it up came off and my friend who is also on the team told me and I was like sh*it, because I knew my parents were watching and they probably saw it. Well at the end of the game I didn’t say anything to them and I just went into the locker room but when I got home they were like so what’d u do last night? And I was like ugghhh nothing why and they were like ooo so who gave u that on ur neck and I was like its not a big deal and they were like yeah it is and they freaked out on me! And they were like ur not going out tonight…and I had plans to go out again! They’re so stupid…its only a hickey and its not like we had sex! Don’t u think they over-reacted! I do!

No, they did not overreact-they are being responsible parents!

I think if you hadn't lied, I would vote that they over reacted. Granted, it might still be a somewhat justified over reaction, but that is what parents do anyway.

Be honest - was there drinking at the party too? Either way, I'm assuming your parents felt there was.

Once you calm down, talk to them about what happened. There's a good chance they might not want you seeing the college kids at all. I know it's only a few years age difference, but would you let your daughter in 6th grade go out with a 9th grade boy? It's not quite a good analogy because you're older, more mature, more responsible, and are able to judge relationships a lot better. But someone in college is quite a few jumps ahead of you no matter what. Whether that's fair or not, I'm not going to debate either way. I think it's a quick judgment, but it's their choice to make those or not make them for now.

I don't know if I answered your question. I hope I did.

Matt

Next time don't let guys give you hickeys, Those are gross. I'm not sure if your parents over reacted, I do know that my parents probably would have reacted the same way that yours did. Just make sure to not get hickeys any more and they can't say anything because they won't know. Just don't have sex or get those disgusting things and I think you'll be fine.

no theyre not over re-acting. they are doing what parents are supposed to do. they are actually doing good job.

what if ur child went to a party like that and got a hickey? how would u feel? would u want ur child around those people?

theyre doing a good thing.
did u even know the guy?

that hickey could have led to sex. that guy could have easily raped you. and dont u dare think it wont happen to u. it happens to alot of people believe it or not. just be careful.

in my view, i don't think of your grades are terrible in any respect. i've got consistently struggled with math too and a minimum of you surpassed geo your first time around =[ I had to retake the 1st semester of geo lower back yet i'm doing plenty greater advantageous now :D My mum and dad do not freak out over my grades because of the fact they understand how perplexing I artwork and attempt to get good grades. I consistently tell them if i'm suffering in a priority so they understand to not bash on me for determining to purchase a bad grade or something whilst my checklist card comes. well-known, i think of your mom could be very happy with your grades and which you're truly attempting in contrast to a pair scholars who pass the class do to cheating on assessments and copying homework from the nerdy little ones.

No, I deff. don't feel that they over-reacted. Not only did you lie, but you degraded yourself. Don't get me wrong, making out is perfectly normal BUT NOT w/ a complete stranger and esp. getting a hickey. I feel hickey's are soo trashy..

Maybe it's better your not allowed to go out, it will give you some time to think about the decisions you SHOULD make for the future

well unless they knew you were going to someone's party, then they shouldn't freak out. if u didn't tell i can understand, cuz there are probably a million things going through their minds about where u were and who u were with. if they knew u were there, they overreacted about the hickey, shhzz ur old enough for one.

i don't think they did. and no, i am not some old mother, i am even younger than you. at least you weren't grounded or had privileges taken away. and even if you don't want to admit it, okay, yes, i know, 2 years isn't too bad, but at this point in your life that makes you a junior/senior in HIGH SCHOOL and him a freshman/sophomore in COLLEGE. don't feel bad, it's not the end of the world, your parents love you, so just be grateful that nothing worse happened, okay?

Nope, they did not over react.... because you lied to them.

Not only that but you know what you did was wrong, or you would not have tried to cover it up.

So you did something bad, did not come clean, and you get punished for it.

Its a good thing nothing bad DID happen, because the consequences of that would be far greater then what you are going through now.

The only one acting stupid here is YOU! Your parent are responsible for your actions until you turn 18 and move out of their home! Stop acting so stupidly and obey your parents!

They are just protecting you. Making sure your ok. Thats what parents do. If you get pregnant, you'll think about them and everything they've ever said to you. And you think they're stupid.
