My gutter in the back of my house runs along the entire back as one peice. One corner at the side of my house, the screw that holds it in place fell out. I tried screwing it back in, and it fell out. I even tried a new screw.

A new hole isn't an option without totally taking down my gutters.. which wouldn't be fun.

How can I keep the gutter up? Any suggestions on fixing the hole?

poster #1: Does this strap have a name? That way when I go into Home Depot I don't look like a dumb blonde going "uh.. this strappy thing for my uh.. gutter" lol

Try a larger screw. The size would be a bit wider than the one that was in it.

Can you purchase or design a bracket from flat metal strip that would slide under a shingle and wrap around the gutter? Then nail or screw the strip under the shingle. If you have 4 inch deep gutters, I believe you could use a piece about 3 to 4 feet long.

If you don't care about appearance, you could use perforated galvanized steel "plumbers tape." Prime and paint the strapping to match your gutter paint.
