India is atleast 50 years behind China; a Century behind Japan, and quite a few decades behind the Asian Tigers.
Many of the African countries are`way ahead of india in various fields.
USA is a Century ahead of the Western europe.
Europe is 2 Centuries ahead of India.

Though India has got the capacity to become Super power ,the greedy and Selfish attitude and corrupt ways of of most Indians in particular most of the politicians, Govt. Officials and business people and many others, will not take India to the post of Superpower at any time

Not if we start investing money into alternate energy and technology, instead of wars in other countries. But at this rate, yes...I feel that China or India will become the new World Power. All we need is a president who will focus more on creating jobs, alt. energy sources, and enough sense to quit throwing money away on wars. Then and ONLY then do we have a chance of staying on top.

No this will be only distant dream until and unless vote
bank politicians are thrown out of India and people of
this country start thinking for poor Hindu ,otherwise
top layer prosperity is not going to make any big change.
Financial progress should touch all the sections of
society then only fully powerful India will emerge.

I don't think that India will become a super power in near future. If crooks are running the country and they can't see beyond their selfish gains, how can you expect that ? It requires a lot of time still. Unless the people become literate in all sense of the term, disciplined, honest about the work and importantly unless we change our corrupt mind set, India can't be a super power.

India has the potential to be the super power but lacks in political will. A superr power must have military might o match it's status. This area is grossly ignored in India.
Besides the super power has it's interest spread all over the world. It must have guts to assert itself in international matters and spread it's tentacles beyond it's geographical boundries.
India lacks in above departments.

No. India will never become a superpower in the fututre. At best, it will be a super-lackey of the United States and other Western Powers and live off their breadcrumbs. Our politicians, businessmen, NRI's and others have sold this country to Westerners.

Yes. India has the chance to be a super power. But India lacks resources and infrastructure to cope with demand of the time.

Yup, just like China, they will soon surpass the US in terms of economies. It will be negative; not only in terms of decreasing US influence around the world, but in terms of the environment. As countries develop, the create more pollution, more demand for goods, and create more waste. There are many complex issues that will be larger problems than the US ever faced due to the huge populations of these countries and their population densities.

If it continues the non alignment policy as practised after becoming a super power in the future, it will have positive impact on the world arena.
