this seems as if it is a secret download they are hidding something?

they aer downloading on one then checking the progress on the other it must be multiple files???

Ridiculous. Progress is in the task bar.

Depends, if they are using a download manager and they don't want to take up any cpu cycles by using the gui interface they might want to do a remote connection to see what files they have gotten. only problem is.. most managers, bit torrent etc use place holders for the file on the harddrive, so you'd see the total file size of the completed download even from the start.
So really I don't know why you would do it! Unless you're using a personal computer on a personal network ip and checking from school or work that might be why. So you are not breaking any rules about using those machines for non-work related processes.

Because they are into multitasking. They may not have enough memory to both download and visit other sites simultaneously. It ties up memory while downloading, and slows down the computer accordingly. It is also probably a good idea not to use other sites while downloading because it could interfere with the download. Two computers could solve the problem.

i got 7 computers, dont know why. oh yea, i do, 6 dont work any more.lol and i paid so much for them i didnt want to just throw them out like the peices of trash that they are. lol
