I understand that it sucks. Paople don't have any idea what tourchure is involved in not being able to sleep for days. If you want another method that is natural using a fresh herb and want to know what it is and how it works, send me an email and Ill fill you in on it. I dont want to say it for the world to see, because there are those that will take and abuse it because its strong and somthing taught in the military at certain SF oriented schools. Pills are not really the answer for a lot of people. I really havent found anything med wise that has really worked for me, but it sounds like you may have a lot on your mind that needs to be addressed. anxiety is coming to mind here. You should talk to your doctor and tell him or her everything. It may not be that you cant sleep as much as it could be anxiety or high blood pressure. those 2 things can make it impossible to sleep. there are also sleeping meds out there now that actually work by telling your brain that its time to sleep and work not so much by drugging you, but by manipulating your nocternal clock in the brain to basically tell it that it needs to go into rest mode.

I know what you mean. Strange, I'll have songs that I heard 2 weeks ago play in my head, even though I've heard lots of other songs since then.
One thing I sort of do is, don't resist it and tell yourself inside, "I don't want this in my head!" Kind of let it roll and replay...
Also, pray for all your family from oldest to youngest (or the other way). Don't just think about them by name--think of them as individuals and pray for their special needs.

Type "Learn how to meditate" in the google search under videos. You should find video's 1 through 4 and they teach you how to clear all of that muck out and have some really neat experiences which are healthy and relaxing.

I had that problem for awhile. Just force yourself to not move at all, and start counting in your head. Sometimes I put music on with a sleep timer. Eventually you'll wake up :)

you could try this ,,I use to close my eyes and look for the blank flat clean slate of the inside of my eyelids ,,, smooth smooth smooth , but what would happen was these little squiggley lines would start to apear swirling and turning into shapes , so I would think smooth smooth , but the swirls would stay and as I watched ,the shapes would turn into cartooney things that would do things , I didn't try to understand these or controle them just watch them change and they would eventualy turn into a dream . and then the next thing I knew the sun would be comming threw the window

i get that sometimes, when your brain just keeps thinking and you cant seem to shut it up. it just means you are focusing to hard about what happened. your not insane just an over reactor lol. try drinking warm milk and listen to a song without any words like an orchastra and classical music. good luck!

Everytime you find your thoughts drifting off, refocus immediately to the present moment and remind yourself that what you are thinking about has no bearing on your immediate reality. Don't allow random thoughts to overtake you or your emotions. It takes time and training but you can do it. I find when I go to bed that meditation CD's really help me go to sleep faster and get better quality of sleep.

It's called insomnia. All insomniacs have the exact same problem. Drink coffee a lot , my brain has become addicted to it therefore when I stop at night I crash hard and fall asleep. I once was taking Ambien, that worked for a while but I became immune to it just like any other drug. I also drank heavily for years but that almost killed me. Heroine works well but there's that whole addiction thing, I wouldn't go there.

I am glad you realize that there is a problem.. I am not a doctor but I know other people who have this same problem ... Go see a doctor, there is medication for this and when you start you whole life will be better.
Go see a doctor ASAP.. it is obvious you need and deserve relief from these symtoms

learn some relaxation techniques and stay away from caffeine in the evening. No tea/coffee/coke after 6 pm. Regular exercise will help too.
