I am married! and just went for my first appointment to ask for help conceiving a child and he full on hit on me! Saying things like (before he examined me), "well if the inside is anything like the outside of you you'll have nothing to worry about... you're gorgeous" Calling me princess and saying things like, "how often do you and your husband have sex?" and when I said due to him being tired its sometimes only once a week, he says- "My god, if I had you in my house- you'd have to wear a paper bag over your head so I could keep my hands off of you"...
There were other things like that but now i feel nervous and wonder, 'What do I do?' Do I keep going back and ignore him? (I have a follow up appointment in 6 weeks!) or do I cancel and see another one? Do you think I am over reacting?

I can't tell my husband he'll go off his head, he gets jealou easily....
Help!
Thanks for all advice given.

To Denise Jj & Peachy Pie-
How dare you imply that I either looked at this the wrong way or 'imagined it'- those quotes were EXACTLY what he said to me, period.
As for appointment continuing, most was said AFTER the examination and to be honest- I was shocked and flustered. It is the both of you who sound jealous of a woman who is attractive.

That doctor should be struck off the Medical Register! How dare he hit on any patient, especially one who wants help conceiving a child with her husband. What a creep - do not go back and let the AMA or whoever has control over doctors where you are that this so-called doctor is doing this.
The sex question was legitimate, but the other stuff was not.

Like allot of other people have said you need to change doctors! I would contact your health insurance carrier to see what your options are on reporting this doctor for his behavior! if you don't change take another person with you. My wife insists I go with her all the time its no big deal for a husband to be in there.

Wow you have to feel so umcomfortable. Its so unproffessional to say that to any patient no matter if they are married or not. Tell him to knock it off, if he doesn't stop you should report him to the medical board. I would see someone else if I was you. You don't need hear crap like that from someone that does the kind of work. Your story makes me cringe. .... whats with some of the nasty replies on here and thumbs down on decent responses. Someone pee in your wheaties or what? Dam tee hee I reported those meanies too!!

Go to your next appointment. Pretend that nothing happened. Take your voice recorder with you and record the conversation that goes on. I only say to do this this way so you can get his medical license revoked for being inappropriate with his patients. You must have actual proof or else it is your word against his and suddenly he says that you made advances towards him and when he rejected you, you devised this plan to get him back. Chances are that you are not the first and gone unchecked, you will not be the last. Who knows, next time it may be a minor.

Gross. I'd report him because he probably gets off looking at your body and just think if you become preggo. He will have to see your private parts alot and you will be uncomfortable and he will make your pregnancy experience a living hell. I would tell my hubby about this jerk he needs to be reported. I bet your not the only person he's done this to. I had an ultra-sound tech that was a pervert and said wow I'm surprised you didn't come in here with granny panties just because I was pregnant. I told my husband and the next ultra-sound I told them NO I don't want to go to see him.

It doesn't matter if you're overreacting (which I think you're not). Gynecologists are supposed to be professional and should refrain from saying such inappropriate things to their patients. I say cancel and look for a different one. Maybe switch to a female gynecologist to lessen the chance of getting hit on to a minimal percentage? Professionals shouldn't make you feel so uncomfortable, and it's also important to let them know of this so that they can start changing their ways.

File a complaint, and change doctors.

It's unprofessional an against doctor patient ethics. He could be doing that and more with other patients, you should do something about it.

It's just not right

You cancel and find an ethical gyno. I would even report him to the medical board for innappropriate behaviour. He is not the only gynocologist....find someone else. He really should be reported because if he comes onto you like that, then hes done it before. He probably has gone further with his "flirtations" and that is a total no no. He should be reported.

Your husband cannot blame you for the behaviour of this man, BUT if you are not willing to go public and make a complaint, you need to think about changing doctors, quick smart.

Nothing you can now do will change this man's attitude, and if you go back to him, he will very likely believe you welcome his advances!

There is more than one good gynaecologist in the world, so find another and stay away from this guy, he is nothing but trouble!

Cheers :-)

When it comes to Ob-gynes - a woman OBgyne is the best. Change doctors because the next time you go to the same doctor, he'll put his hands where the sun don't shine and he will continue hitting on you and make his profession an excuse to get away with it. Tell your next OB about the experience, he should be sued for sexual harassment.
