Is the 1989 movie of "Henry V" historically accurate? I need to do a paper on the movie and i need to make sure it isn't of Shakespeare's fantasy. If you know a lot about the middle ages and this is an accurate portray of an event in history then please let me know ASAP thanks!

Henry V was a real king. He fought the Battle of Agincourt, described in the play, and the major characters (or at least those who were nobles) were real people. Apart from that, there is a lot of propaganda and poetic licence in the details.

No, Shakespeare's plays were not necessarily historically accurate. Look at Richard III. That was def. not historically accurate. Shakespeare wrote during the Elizabethian era. He had to impress Queen Elizabeth (a tudor) whose grandfather had overthrown the plantenagets. She would not have been very happy had he portrayed any plantenaget king in a positive light.

The movie is based on William Shakespeare's interpretation of HENRY V, and Bill Shakespeare was a playwright not a historian.
