I think it's the desire of most humans to live in peace. Wars will likely be with us for some time, but world peace is achievable eventually.

The three big factors for world peace are education, prosperity, and culture. Education, to teach that violence is not the only way, and to teach rational thought. Prosperity, because lack of resources by a nation or a struggling class is one of the main causes of conflict. And culture, one that encourages peaceful forms of "conflict" like competitive sports.

If one looks at relatively stable countries like the US, and compare it to other countries wracked by border conflicts and civil strife, we can learn what factors encourage peace and which factors encourage war and conflict. I think the three I've listed above are our best bet for achieving a lasting world peace.

Never as long as people in this world demand death for naming a teddy bear mohammed. Any and all groups that think so absolutely will always threaten peace for their own selfish ends.

As long as people are free to have differing opinons there will always be conflict and if its a large group of people or a country they will start up wars, even if its undeclared, taking pot shots from trees or buildings at others.
