Yes. Mercury is like water. It is a liquid at room temperature, but it can be frozen (below -38C) or vaporized (it boils at +357C) .
When I was a high school student in the early 1950's, we had assemblies, at which the whole school would turn out in the auditorium for a performance of a man demonstrating liquid oxygen. He demonstrated that mercury was a liquid. But then he would put a stick into some liquid mercury, immerse the whole thing in liquid oxygen, and then use the stick and frozen mercury to mammer a nail into wood.
Nowadays, we realize tat mercury is dangerous. Even if it boils at 357C, there is enough mercury vapor in the air at 20C-25C (68F-77F) to harm people who breathe it.

Just about every solid can turn into a liquid and then a gas if you apply enough heat. I was thinking first of carbon dioxide, which goes from dry ice to a liquid to a gas, but it can go directly between those stages solid/gas (sublimation). Mercury is another example - freeze it into a solid or vaporize it

mercury is one of those elements that take alot of cooling to freeze it but the problem with freezing it is that even you freeze it liquid nitrogen tends to kill the element it cant be evaporized
