My dream home is a lovely Victorian with 3 stories (including the basement) plus a spiral staircase in my bedroom leading up into a turret....(where I would keep the telescope.... for stargazing ....of course)
...oh and there is a balcony off the MB as well ...
..and a"dumb-waiter" & an old ornate iron cage elevator that runs up through the middle of the house...

While a 2-3 story house is beautiful, as you get older I think a single story would be quite easier to get around, and I actually think they are equally as pretty/nice!

Stairs are not my friends these days.
Though I have always been partial to single story houses (not shot gun houses).

Lived in a three story house on the beach, hated cleaning it!
