and it smelled like mold and B.O.
It took me 3.5 hours...no lie...the bottom was black and brown and the walls were coated in slime.
How much additional rent should i charge him?

He didn't ask me to, but it's in the guest bathroom which is used by anyone who comes over and it was offensive, i didn't have a choice as it reflects poorly on me, and it's MY house

35.00 ( 10.00 an hour. )
-present it to him as a housekeeping bill .
that's just wrong. you can get sick from mold spores getting in the air ,and then into your lungs.
it's a health issue. if he won't clean it , i'd think you'd have a right to reimbursement , for having to do it for him.

What? How long have you been roommates? Does he have a separate shower from yours? Have you been using the same shower, waiting for him to clean it? Who does the housework around there anyway? When did he last clean the toilet? When did you last clean the toilet? Maybe you should share the cost of a cleaning service. If it's in the guest bathroom and you say it's reflecting badly on you, why did you let it go for a year?

Oh, yuck. $20.00 an hour is what a good housekeeper gets around here. Check the numbers where you are and charge him at least that.
EDIT: Those folks who said you may not collect anything could be right, depending on just how awful this person is... and on whether he asked you to do it.
You could also report him to whoever it is (where ARE you?) running this place with a shower for you and a shower for your roommate...

I clean a friends domicile as a component-time job and there tub is amazingly, very scummy! Very GROSS! I used tender SCRUB with BLEACH and a scotch brite non-scratch pad.... that's advisable to flow away it on for awhile.. Or scrub a splash harder... It relatively does artwork.... or you need to use some dishwasher liquid detergent and observe a skinny coating on your tub, flow away on and rinse that's works properly.... it would be terrific to scrub the bathe AFTER is became used so as that the cleansing soap scum would be heat and are available off greater elementary! **i comprehend this utility works.. We used tender SCRUB w/ BLEACH to scrub a C-40-one processing gadget for 35mm action picture that gets stained with photos chemical compounds...! ***It additionally works to get eco-friendly ALGAE off the area of a fiberglass boat! stable good fortune...

OMG! I would charge him a ton! That is just nasty. I would be really upset if I were you. Charge him $50 for each hour it took you to clean it. So, I guess that would be $175.00. Maybe that will teach him to start keeping it clean.
Good luck!

have a weekly inspection and boot his butt out if it's not up to snuff. I had to do that once- it was so bad I had to use oven cleaner and a face mask with the window wide open in January. or charge him 3.5 times 20.00. what a cleaner would get.

Unless he asked you to clean it and agreed ahead of time to pay you for it, nothing, and that's what you can successfully collect. If he did agree, $40-50. That's about the minimum of what 3.5 hours of professional cleaning services would cost.

Eww, you don't need to do that and that guy was yucky, find some other new room mate but charge him first for 80$ for hours you spend and effort. I appreciate you for doing that you are neat then.
