The most simple way I've every heard you question stated, is "I had to be there, to get here." I believe it to be truth.

It MAY lead to a great good, but it may not. The trick here is how you look at the situation and whether you are a person who looks for opportunities in the midst of setbacks, or if you focus on the setback.

If you continually focus on the setback, you will not recognize opportunities when they appear and no "good" things can be discovered.

The situations you describe above are often considered to be twists of fate, or "good luck", snatched from the jaws of defeat. However, studies of people who consider themselves to be "lucky" find that lucky people have certain traits that make them more prone to succeed, even when faced with a bad thing, things like a positive attitude and an awareness of opportunities.

It depends on the situation , for example in what you wrote , do you consider it a good result? and I guess it is .
Actually ,bad things happened in the past , results to good thing if the person is quick to analize , and accept the situation that what happened was a good lesson learned , and he could use the bad experience as a toll leading to her or his success.
Sometimes people never learned any lesson , instead , they mistook it as bad luck , and the person or a company or a boss who fired them from the job is the subject of revenge,

The bad and good is the line drawn between events, separated by the scalpel of intellect, comparing, dividing, finding distinction between everything around, and the mind gets inextricably stuck, making a misery out most of the events!
Everything happens as a result of 'well coordinated' complexity of sum total of cause and effect . If only we could find our way to 'act' instead of just 'reacting' every time, then everything that happens in our lives could really lead to great good, as you rightly said.

Man's extremity of sorrow can be God's opportunity for Good.

"Expecting Adam," Martha Beck, Ph.D., tell this story well.
