Don't be pushy. "Lead by example" was one of the things I was taught in NCO school in the Marines. Your friend will be watching the way you live your life. Be a good friend and let them come to you and be ready.

I will pray too. But learn as much as possible and I know how uncomfortable it can be but only bring up scripture when its absolute neccssary and be a good example. Remember who you represent ? And who is influencing who???

This does not belong in the Psychology section. Forget she is atheist, she is a human and not necessarily your enemy. Follow 1 Cor. !3, Phil. 1:9-10, Matthew 5:41-44 and Matthew 6:6

Good luck in your human relations, good mental health, peace and Love!

I will pray for your friend.

The best way is to witness is by building relationships and by being a shining example of what a Christ-led life is like. You need to exemplify SALT and LIGHT, as our Father has commanded us. Your life should be so attractive and magnetically "spicy" and interesting that your friend wants to know (and asks) just what is is about you that is so different.

Spend time building the relationship. Be a friend to her. Allow her to ask questions. Have the answers for her. Be prepared to answer the TOUGH questions. Bone up on your apologetics. Let your friend know that you pray for her, and that you're willing to discuss spiritual issues whenever she is ready. Have literature available for her if she requests it.

You might want to read a book or two by Bill Hybels. He addresses this issue very well.

Best of luck to you,
~M~

By being a good Christian-- and nothing more.

Please don't bother. I'm an atheist and have a christian friend and it really puts a damper on an otherwise great friendship.

Get out of her life! It's people like you that piss everyone off! An atheist is an atheist because he/she WANTS to be. It's none of your business what someone's religious beliefs are. The world is diverse, and no one can be 'right'. You're a fool to believe otherwise.

My advice? Accept her opinion and respect it.
