Depends on which state you are in.
New York is pretty expensive.
Las Vegas...very cheap.

Fast food prices range from state to state, for 2 people at 3 meals a day it would be about $30-$35 a day at FAST FOOD. Most Diners, Applebees, Chili's, Mexican Restuarants will be about $11-$13 a meal unless you get steak and seafood, then it'll be more..usually those are $16-$19 a plate so 3 times a day at that price is about $33-$60. Best bet would be to gather coupons for some places, hit the breakfast specials or get hotel rooms where the hotel includes breakfast if you're trying to save money. Also, on vacation if you go to the beach or to a lake or park, pack lunch or dinner, it's romantic and a little cheaper. Especially with the cost of gas these days. If you enjoy the outdoors, camping may also be an option, in which case, cook over the camp fire.

Hope this helps and have fun :)

That is impossible to guess without very specific information about where you will be and what you will eat. Eating at McDonald's is much cheaper than many restaurants. Seafood and Bar-b-que's are expensive. The Midwest has the cheapest meals. The east and west coasts are the most expensive. Plan on about 6 dollars per person per meal. That's about as cheap as you can go without going hungry. It only goes up from there. Also consider nutrition. Quality costs. Junk food is cheap, but it won't do your arteries any good. Have fun on your trip.

Check coupons online for your towns, you can usually do a search by ZIP code. Many hotels if you do stay in one, have complimentary breakfasts. The answer about 32 dollars a day is probably fair. In the US there is a Rachel Ray show on TV where she travels in major markets and eats out for $40 a day and by making good decisions she manages to do well.

I'd definitely try to find local deli's for lunch, most of our supermarkets have food bars with fresh salads, soups and prepared food that you can eat in or take out without tip.

The closer you get to tourist attractions the worse the prices will be for food. Pack a thermal lunch bag .

Also, if you aren't starving at dinner time, a lot of places have bars with "happy hour" foods. One of the best places here has $3 prime rib sandwiches at happy hour. Some watering holes also give free food. Enjoy your trip!

Yeah, it really does all depend on where you eat out and what states you are going to be in. It could be as cheap as 35 to as much as 65 a day depending on what you eat and how much or little you and your husband eat in a day. But a good average for you might be about 50 dollars a day just to guesstimate. It is always better to be on the safe side so that you know that you are money wise prepared. I hope that you have fun!

Hmm...most casual family dining restaurants around here (southern California) offer entrees for $7-10, plus drinks. This is basic sandwiches, hamburgers, meal salads, etc. You can go a little higher for nicer meals, maybe $10-20 for steak or good fish, depending of course on the restaurant. Or a little lower for quick lunches at a deli type restaurant, like $4-5 bucks for a sandwich. Small family owned restaurants may offer better deals, and of course, you can go way higher if you want something fancy. Hope this helps a little...Oh, and mexican food is often cheaper, if you like it, that's a good inexpensive meal.

That really depends on how picky you are and if you only choose sit down, waiter-provided service or enjoy fast food. Typical fast food meals are about $6 per person, per meal on average if you pig out on a "meal deal" and probably about $15 per person including tip at a sit down, waiter-served slow meal place.

Also consider bringing and replenishing food from local groceries and farmer's markets. You can eat a lot cheaper, get fresher more nutritious food, especially for breakfast and lunch, which will save you some extra bucks for dinners.
