My parents had been divorced about 5 years and my dad brought one of his drinking buddies to our house, on Christmas Eve.
The friend was trying to light his cigarette and drink some whiskey at the same time. My dad decided to help him light the cigarette and bumped the glass of booze; it splashed up on the guys nose at the very same moment that the lighter flared and set the guys nose on fire.
My mother, sisters and I laughed so hard, we cried. And to this day, we still don't remember how the fire was extinguished.
That as 50 years ago.
Not necessarily my fondest, but certainly my funniest!!!!

Drinking egg nog and decorating the tree. the tree we use to have we had it for 20 years and my mom threw it away when I was 20 so we had the tree for a while. But I would always look forward to decorating it. We have these blocks with our first initials on it that we still hang in the very middle of the tree, and there is the blanket that we use every year that has NOEL on it that we put at the bottom of the tree. So yeah decorating the tree would have to be my fondest memory

As a very young child I remember napping with the sounds of family in the kitchen cooking with all the great smells building to a crescendo to wake me up before the dinner. All the warmth and love of family at the holidays. Hard to put this one into words. Good question, thanks for the present of the memory. That's my first gift rec'd this year. Thanks again!

The lights appearing on houses everywhere.....it made the surrounding world so magical to me. I'm not talking those little white ones but the bigger bright colored bulbs. Those sort are still the center of my lighting display.

When i was small i went to france with the school.. and on the bus a very nice girl sat next to me.. I was a very very shy boy and she wanted to go to sleep and she asked if she could sleep on my shoulder...
At the time that was amazing for me
A little silly you might think.

My grandfather telling the story of baby jesus from the bible even before we ate or opened presents. That is when christmas was christmas not this garbage you see today. no one knows the true meaning of christmas anymore. it is about celebrating the birth of baby jesus not gifts and money and just receiving it about giving.
