Well, I haven't played since I was a wee little lass, but my siblings used to use me when they didn't have stumps. Maybe that's why I feel as if I was dropped on my head........

Great question.

Ohh, i used a lot of things as an alterantive to stumps. While playing in a garden, we used tree ,lol

In the class (lol) , we used chairs , table , bin etc etc. We used to draw the stumps on walls with Marker,lol

Break some sticks from small trees and keep them as wickets or keep a chair, or we'll draw 3 white lines on a tree and play in front of it. lol

Well what my my brother and I used until we got some real stumps was a rubbish bin.

Brett Lee & his brothers used to have the garage roll-a-door as their wicket. Their father had to replace it several times!

The shortest kid you can find, no rubbish bins are pretty good as stumps.

one can use cycle, tyre, or bricks as wickets. You can also use a spare bat if you have one.
