i noticed a lot of people linking marriage to family and having kids. many very serious gay couples adopt kids, which helps with the number of parent-less children in the world. also, can't two unmarried people raise kids too?

Marriage is about love between a man and a woman, not between two men and two women. The reason for the debate is that, two men cannot reproduce, neither two women. When you understand the order of things, marriage was intended by God to be consumated between a man and a woman to procreate, the devil in the other hand had decieved the world and therefore give the world through sin, another type of love, lovers of themselves, rather than lovers of God.
