at this time of night?
I really don't see what the problem is, theres not much else being posted so why are some people getting so worked up about it?

Some people just don't like a laugh. They were born without a funny bone or a sense of irony. There is only a few of them though so dont worry too much about it
Dodo - yes current events belongs to everybody so what is the problem with a couple of jokes being posted this late at night??
Edit How does telling jokes show lack of intelligence? I would have thought you would have to be a bit clever to have a sense of humour

The following is taken from the Yahoo guidelines and is relevant to your question. One of the main reasons I object to these constant jokes is because they are in the wrong section and many have sexual content. Although they are posted late at night, they remain on for children to see.......Yahoo says....
Is it a violation to put my question in the wrong category?
Sometimes it’s hard to find the perfect category for your question. We know that mistakes sometimes happen and miscategorization of a question is not automatically considered a violation. However, repeatedly posting questions in the wrong category could result in a violation of the Community Guidelines.
We also consider questions that call out other users by name to be chatting. If the intent is to ask a follow-up question in response to someone else’s question and that person is not available via email or IM, post a new question that’s open to everyone in the community to answer – there might be someone else who’s better equipped to

Firstly it may be 'This time of night ' for you but lots of people do shift work, and could just be coming on here. Also presume you are in Britain. Well, what about those contributing from other countries, it's not always late at night for them? Also news can and will break at anytime of the day or night. Same as at present there is a lot of news that could be covered, even if some seems to be fed up with McCann and Teddy Bear questions. Just because people don't like jokes being posted in this section does not mean they lack humour themselves but when they come on here they are in the mood for some serious answers/debating about Current Events. There is no problem with jokes, can be a great laugh but it really is making the people continually posting them come over as thick by doing so in this section. All the group who wish to share jokes have to do is go on to the jokes and riddle section and post/answer all night long. I no doubt would join you there pretty often but PLEASE it's not for Current Affairs. Putting it another way if you were on the Jokes and Riddles Section would it not start to irritate you that serious questions were being posted about Current Affairs?

What's wrong with putting a red marble in the bag where the blues go? gee, I don't know.
If I want to read something funny, I'll go to the funnies. If I want news I'll go to the current events section.
I wish people were more logical sometimes, but whatever.
I don't mind it too much, it lets me know who's a fool and who isn't...

You are right ...more people ( am sure) see the questioner on the stage more clearly when going via 'news and events'. If you do not get a response it is hardly worth the effort.

You right Mrs.Clooney!
BTW, what on earth are "non news related questions", i ask?!
If the antics of the confused Ms.Hilton & perplexed Ms.Spears can be featured, regularly, as breaking news, i say ANYTHING that we need/ want / wish to discuss is as vital & can be termed as news.
Hey! its what we want to know! which is the definition of news!
Say hi! to George for me pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!

It's not night time where I live.
What's wrong with it is mainly there are a group of you Brits who are young & just seem to use this site to stay in touch with one another. It's better you email each other, as we don't want to keep reading such stuff as..lol, babe etc.etc.
As for jokes, they are NOT current events. This is why your immaturity shows up. Use the jokes section. Hardly any of your questions or answers have anything to do with serious issues. Should I now call you all trolls, lol & all the other childish words you all use. Perhaps there should be a "Junior Yahoo"?
As for getting worked up, isn't that what you're doing?
Text or email one another, or have a Christmas get-together, where you can all talk silly talk, and joke to your heart's content.lol.
Edit: To Charlotte's Dad.
Who's got the most thumbs up? Mrs. Maturity & myself.
Does that mean others agree with us?
You can be old & still act with no maturity.
Who said I was a lady?
